An advocate of learning on the job and from experience, Mark joined OSG in 2016. He is responsible for the management and technical delivery of projects, working with the team to make sure jobs are completed on time and within budget.

Whether he is developing specifications or drawings or working on planning applications, Mark is always up for a challenge – particularly if it requires him to work outside traditional comfort zones.

Vice Chairman of the South East Regional Committee of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists, Mark specialises in residential and sheltered housing, and has worked on commercial projects as diverse as commercial transport hubs and an intake building for domestic animals.

What advice would you give young architects entering the industry today?

“Always be prepared to learn, push design and material boundaries and be innovative. New ideas often come from reviewing existing buildings and thinking how new technologies could influence new buildings in the future. Decide what interests you and look for clients that match the sectors you want to work in.”
