OSG were commissioned by developer, Selsdon Building Contractors to deliver the technical architectural design work for a new fully affordable residential housing development in Purley designed by Altham Lewis Architects.

The new development, which is being constructed on the site of 3 residential dwellings will provide 40 new affordable residential flats to include 36 family units and 4 wheelchair units.

The new building is designed over 3 to 5 floors in line with the topography of the site.

Challenges: This is a tight site with substantial level differences, requiring stepped sections to the building and extensive retaining elements. Special consideration has been given to the fire and ventilation regulations for the half-sunken under croft parking and the smoke ventilation strategy for each block.

The project started on site in February 2022 and is due to complete in 2023.
