Student Insight – Ben Miller

The level of technical design and knowledge really helped fill in the gaps not covered at university.

I joined OSG in 2018 on my placement year after finishing my Part 1. The level of technical design and knowledge really helped fill in the gaps not covered at university, and as a practice I felt that I was really supported and encouraged across a wide array of project types. I then chose to take the apprenticeship route for my Part 2 & 3 – this has not been what I expected (no thanks to a pandemic) but the practice has helped me along the way. Currently, I’m gaining more experience with project ‘running’ and building regulation stages of projects – enjoying more client interaction.

My top tips would be to invest in a Logitech MX mouse (other ergonomic brands are available!) to save your hands, and learn the dimensions of a brick! (215mm x 102.5 x 65mm)
